Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using BuildInPublicLog ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
Description of Service
BuildInPublicLog is a public leaderboard platform that:
- Tracks GitHub commit activity from your selected repositories
- Calculates shipping streaks based on weekly commit patterns
- Displays public leaderboards ranking users by current streak length
- Provides dashboards for users to view their stats and manage settings
User Accounts
Account Creation
To use the Service, you must create an account by signing in with your GitHub account via OAuth. You must have a valid GitHub account and agree to grant the necessary permissions.
Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
- Manipulate your streak by creating fake commits or abusing the system
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users or post offensive content
Data and Privacy
Our collection and use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our privacy practices.
You retain all rights to your commit data and content. We only use your data to provide the Service and as described in our Privacy Policy.
Content and Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content (excluding user data), features, and functionality are owned by BuildInPublicLog and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without explicit permission.
GitHub Integration
The Service integrates with GitHub via OAuth. You agree that:
- You have the right to grant us access to your GitHub data
- We are not responsible for changes GitHub makes to their API or OAuth system
- You can revoke access at any time through GitHub's settings or by deleting your account
- We comply with GitHub's Terms of Service and API usage policies

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the data displayed.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL BUILDINPUBLICLOG, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your access to or use of (or inability to access) the Service
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
- Unauthorized access or alteration of your data
- Any other matter relating to the Service
Account Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including:
- Violation of these Terms
- Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
- Prolonged inactivity
- At your request (account deletion)
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All data associated with your account will be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which BuildInPublicLog operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Severability
